Natural Beauty

Black Women FacesGenesis 1:27 says,”So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” This scripture entails that God, the creator of man, created both male and female in His own image. Our natural beauty comes from Him. It is not defined by makeup, extensions, weaves, tips, or implants. Natural beauty is what we are born with.

As a little girl growing up I battled with “beauty.” I was bullied by my classmates and tormented by what they thought was beautiful. Apparently for them, my size, shape, skin tone, and eyes were not what we would call,”beauty.” I became depressed. Its sad to say that I aloud others opinions consume my mind. My sophmore year of high school I realized that others views on my physical appearance was irrelevant. I began to build my confidence by simply looking in the mirror and saying, “You are beautiful.”

We live in a generation that is confused about the definition of “beauty.” These days artists, reality TV stars, and video vixens, pollute their body with  implants, weaves, extensions, and tips. They cover and hide their beauty under things that are not what God blessed them with. Older women, female teens, and even little girls, believe that FAKE is beautiful. They cannot see past what they do not have, because society tells them what they should have. Natural beauty is a reminder of God’s creation. It tells us that we were created in His image.
